Dr. Sam Mensah

Dr. Sam Mensah, Senior Consultant of SEM Capital Advisors Limited is a financial economist and a seasoned investment banking consultant. He is founder of SEM Capital Advisors Limited. He has previous academic experience as an Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Michigan and lecturer at the University of Toronto.

His areas of consulting include financial markets, strategic planning, corporate restructuring, debt management, economic policy and project finance. He has consulted extensively for the Government of Ghana, Ghana Stock Exchange, USAID, the Commonwealth Secretariat, the World Bank and the Canadian International Development Agency and has directed several major projects including the Domestic Debt Restructuring, the Government-Sponsored Venture Capital Scheme and the Financial Sector Strategic Plan.

His country experience includes Canada, United States, Ghana, Botswana, Kenya, Lesotho, Mozambique, Nigeria, Senegal, and South Africa; Dr. Mensah served at the Ministry of Finance as Technical Advisor with advisory responsibilities for Debt Management, Financial Sector Development and Public Investment. Dr. Mensah’s transaction advisory experience includes the sale of Ghana Telecom and the issue of five Eurobonds by the Republic of Ghana.
